GATHERING VOL.3: A Photographic Celebration of Richard Avedon's "Woman in the Mirror"

For the third Theory Aoyama flagship store event, we recreated a party that had taken place in the New York meatpacking district at the restaurant Pasits in December of 2005. The party was to commemorate the publication of "Woman in the Mirror," the first posthumous photo collection of the master fashion photographer Richard Avedon.
Along with the works of Richard Avedon, photos taken of the guests and the scene at the NY event will be displayed at this event. As in NY, the exhibition will be of Avedon's photo studio and of works from the "Woman in the Mirror" collection, each individually displayed on black boards. Tear sheets of these works will be available so you can take a copy of the work home with you.

The invited guests were primarily from the fashion industry.
Carmen (model & Avedon’s muse), Jean-Michel Cazabat (shoe designer), John Bartlett (designer of John Bartlett), Julia Stegner (model), Kenneth Cole (designer of Kenneth Cole), Olivia Chantecaille (co-founder of Chantecaille Cosmetics & socialite), Sean "Diddy" Combs (singer)
We will be selling copies of the photo collection "Woman in the Mirror" for the duration of the event.
*When the Theory Aoyama flagship store reopened in October of last year the "Gathering Space", in B1 of the store, was created as an open space with the dual functions of gallery space to display the works of artists that Theory appreciates, and a rest lounge to allow store visitors to relax.
In the future, we plan to periodically hold events in this Gathering Space.
