Theory Opens Retail Store In Honolulu's Ala Moana

JULY, 2006 – Theory will open a retail store in Ala Moana, the upscale shopping destination in Honolulu, Hawaii. Slated to open July 11, 2006, the store will be just over 1,500 square feet, housing the men’s, women’s and accessories collections.
Rogers and Marvel Architects are working with interior designers Jarlathdan to achieve the Theory vision for the space. Eclecticism, which is so integral to the theory wardrobe, is illustrated through the space itself. Rather than abide by one style, the décor is conceptual. Clean. Sophisticated. Modern.
The juxtaposition of lucite and hickory market tables create a dialogue between the organic and the industrial. The effect is a dynamism uniquely Theory. The direction is an exploration in the authenticity of materials – raw wood, blackened steel, and poured aluminum. Monolithic concrete flooring and white walls with accents of raw steel further illustrate an aesthetic of sophisticated simplicity.
