Fall 2006
The Theory Icon Project is an opportunity for Theory to express our creative interests and passions, not just through our clothes, but also through art, photography, and special events.
This season Theory commissioned photographer Diego Fuga to create a series of images that will be installed at various Theory locations around the world. These images will appear in mediums ranging from billboards in central Tokyo, to a mural installation in our new New York flagship store, to a display at our corporate headquarters.
Diego Fuga was born in Milan, where he started working with art directors and fashion photographers. After high school he was awarded a photography scholarship at G.G. Bauer.
In 1999, he opened his studio in Milan and began cooperating at different levels with brands such as Brioni, Cerruti, Calzedonia, Cappucci, Diesel, Etro, New York Industry, Puma, Reebok, and Victor Victoria. His work entails fashion, portraits, and fine art: his images have appeared in magazines like Dazed and Confused, Deutsch, Flux, Hint, Italian Vogue Label, Rodeo, Spoon, Sport & Street, Surface, and V. In the past year he has worked on two of Maurizio Cattelan’s art projects, one of which appeared in the art magazine I Love Museums. His work has been cited in Alias, the art section of Il Manifesto, as an example of young fine art photography. His pictures have been selected for the book “Lo Sguardo Italiano,” a history of Italian fashion photography from 1951 to today. The book has been edited by Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery in collaboration with the Patron of National Chamber of Italian Fashion.
